Chris Atkins the director and writer of Taking Liberties has been nominated for a BAFTA – (The Carl Foreman Award for Special Achievement by a British Director, Writer or Producer in their first Feature Film). This is what Chris had to say about it all:
‘Flabbergasted and thrilled but worried that it won’t do my anti-establishment credentials any good!’
As most of you will know I have a credit on the film as “stills photographer” and the images in this gallery are some of my images the film used and a number of them have also been used to promote the film in the UK and international press and media.

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM - 12.01.08. Brian Haw the peace campaigner before being grabbed by police outside Downing Street, Whitehall, London Saturday 12th January 2008. Mr. Haw was taking part in a protest against the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005 (SOCPA) which bans spontaneous protests in a “designated area” around Parliament. Mr. Haw was snatched by police from a group of protesters outside the Downing Street gates and taken to a police van looking very alarmed and frightened. Just before Mr. Haw was grabbed he was asking the line of police officers in front of him who the senior officer was so he could report an alleged assault on him by officers early in the day.
